The author edited  and typed up the  the original documents from the Dudley court martial Court of Inquiry  in which Nathan Dudley, commander at Fort Stanton was  accused of incompetence in the Lincoln County War.  ‘A military court of inquiry, with more than 60 witnesses, was held behind closed doors at Fort Stanton from May 2nd until July 8th, 1879. It investigated Lt. Col. Nathan A. M. Dudley, commanding officer at Fort Stanton, and his actions during the Five-Day Battle in Lincoln (July 15-19, 1878′.   Col.
