Scarce first (and only) edition of this fragile work. English ornithologist, Author and Bird illustrator Cicely Gwynne Lushington née Kershaw (1903–1987) was born and raised in Ceylon and gained fame as an artist and sculptor whose pottery birds command good prices at auction. Has front cover illustration detached – it may have been front cover of a paper jacket, or possibly adhering to the soft card covers but has become separated,otherwise VG.
