With the bookplate of Hutches Trower (1777-1833), political economist Of Shalford and correspondent of David ricardo, a friend of Malthus to the front pastedown.

Housed in a handsome  custom clamshell box in Quarter leather with raised bands and gilt titles. Label to front of box indicating that this was a retirement gift from the Faculty of Arts  at the University of Witwatersrand to Professor Ludwig Maurits Lachmann a leadingGerman economist, economic theorist and important contributor to the Austrian School of Economics.
