Description

Major Fiennes Cornwallis served in the Crimean War with the 4th Light Dragoons and took part in the Charge of the Light Brigade,  becoming aide-de-camp to Lord George Paget . First edition. 123pp. Privately printed. Letters from the Crimean War. One page obituary to rear, plus and Tennyson’s Charge of the Light Brigade.  Bookplate to front pastedown  of Lord Alexander George Russell, who served in the Rifle Brigade at the Siege of Sevastopol. Remnants of the paste from the bookplate to the front pastedown where the hinge is strained at the gutter, as is the hinge at teh rear pastedown, otherwise VG – protected in a removable mylar sleeve. A nice association copy of this scarce item.
