Catalogue for a sale of the furniture of Sir William Fraser at Dowell’s Auction House in Edinburgh, 3rd December 1898. The copy of James Gordon Stewart Macphail with his name to the cover, with his notes on some of the items. Item 144 is a sword said to be used in defence of Bonnie Prince Charlie by one ____ MacPhail at Culloden, as told to Fraser by his daughter Bell MacPhail who sold it to Fraser. The story is told in the item entry. Catalogue covers nearly detached and rust from staple with some loss to covers. Catalogue annoted in pencil. No prioices realised other than some of the furniture in the notes. A scarce Jacobite associated item
