First edition of these memoirs of the radical MP and soldier. Wardle was prominent in an action arising from the scandals relating tom the relationship of Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany, the commander-in-chief of the army, with Mary Anne Clarke. Wardle brought forward a motion against the Duke on 27 January 1809 which although unsuccessful brought about the Duke’s retirement from his position. Small Dundee Library stamps to title and to pages 67, 117 etc. Rebound in modern brown cloth with title label. A scarce title. VG
