Report on the ‘ancient patrimony’ of the community of edinburgh – the land owned by the people of the City through their council. A concept which is coming tot he fore again in the present day. Pencilled signature of John Harrison (presumably the City Treasurer of the time) to the half title. With a large folding plan to the rear produced by W.K. Johnston and a smaller plan of the City of Edinburgh’s ‘Oyster Scalps’. Includes a section onthe principles behind the concept of Common Good. Red cloth with gilt titles and City badge. A scarce work. VG
