First edition in jacket of the first English translation of the diaries of the three men who died in the tragic Andree balloon expedition. The diaries were found in 1930 with the remains of the three men , the expedition itself having happened in 1897., xx, 472 pp frontispiece, plates, three fold-out maps. Authorised translation into English from the official Swedish edition by Edward Adams-Ray. A VG copy in a VG- jacket which has been protected by tape (browning) internally and has some chipping to the base of the spine, now protected in a removable mylar sleeve. Scarce in the jacket.
