Scarce copy of this controversial document. A controversy which created a great Victorian scandal. On the Emir Pasha relief expedition claims came to light that one of the expedition, James Sligo Jameson, bought an 11-year-old girl and offered her to cannibals to document and sketch how she was cooked and eaten. H.M. Stanley, the leader found out only when Jameson had died of fever. The supplement to the graphic has facsimile copies of the affadavit sworn by Assad Farran – a witness to the event . 16pp, a little worn to edges and some light marks but generally VG. Very scarce.
