First edition, in two volumes, in half leather on marbled boards. Gift inscription on fep to Alexander halley M.D. (Halley was a Harley Street Doctor and Honorary President of the Gaelic Society of London, and a life member of the Gaelic Society of Inverness) Underlining in ink throughout (see scans – presumably by Halley who before his death gave a speech at the London Highland Society, to whom this book is dedicated, pressing for a Gaelic chair to be established in Edinburgh). Boards worn otherwise a Good set.
