Description

Account of the voyage of the Fox which made the first discoveries of the remains of the Franklin expedition. In the original binding of blue cloth with gilt titles and decoration. All maps present including the fold out map in the rear docket which is in Good+ condition. Endpapers renewed and binding tightened in the process.  oNE CORNER BRUISED. Signature with 1859 date to top of title page bears some passing resemblance to McClintock’s signature on a letter in the Wilson archive (particularly in that it has a semi colon before the C of Clintock) but no provenance to this and there are some apparent differences. Otherwise a VG- copy of this important work in Arctic exploration history.
