Dystopian fantasy reminscent of Kafka, in which a  train is constantly being compelled to increase its speed  – a passenger from first class finds himself descending into the worlkd of the workers tasked with ensuring the train speeds up…. Signed to the front endpaper by the author and dated  May 1950. Prelims and page edges have light foxing spots otherwise VG in VG- dustjacket which is slightly soiled to the rear panel and now protected in a removable mylar sleeve.
