With the signature of the Earl of Rothes to the title page (probably the 9th Earl, who fought for George I against the Jacobites in 1715). Ridpath was a journalist and Whig supporter who had to flee the country in the reign of Queen Anne due to libel charges. He published several works arguing against the Union of the Crowns in 1707 VG condition. Bound in half leather, marbled boards, gilt titles. Binding tight and no wear to leather,
