12 volumes, in contemporary full calf. Frontispiece, no other plates or maps present. Interleaved in the binding are 31 of Hollar’s engravings of the participants, presumably cut from a set by the owner, who has listed these in a folded page laid in (see photo)

With the bookplates of Charles Longuet Higgins, of Turvey Abbey, to the front pastedowns. Higgins (1806-1885) was a landowner, physician and benefactor.

Full well worn old calf bindings with faded spine lettering. Some gutters strained but all intact and condition is generally Good.

A good set of this influential historical work.
