First edition in the T. N.Foulis Friendship series – designed to be sent as gifts for special occasions (often at Christmas) . Cover design by Jessie M. King. Illustrated with 4 colour plates by Maurice Greiffenhagen. The cover by King has very true colours (often found faded,. and the spine lettering is clear. Softcovers with French flaps. With a gift inscription from ‘Dolly and Jessie’ in Christmas 1918. This does not appear to be in her writing but may bear some further research. A VG copy of a scarce fragile item
