First UK edition of this Lecoq detective novel set in Paris in the 1800s. Frontispiece with tissue guard and three futher plates in the text. Verso of title page refers to a New York Printer so I suspect this is just the US sheets as published by F. M. Lupton  with a British title page inserted.  Green cloth with gilt titles – a VG copy of a scarce British first.
