Description

The Military Engineer: Set  of two volumes including maps in pocket at rear. Presentation note pasted to the front pastedown of volume 1. Half-tone frontispieces, 64 plates, 18 maps and an additional 9 folding maps in end pockets.Large and Heavy volumes (3 kilos). Extra postage will be required for orders outside UK – please enquire in advance. Both volumes have faded spines (as common with this) and   mark  to spine of volume 1 but generally a VG set. Volume 1 covers the Engineers’ contributions to the military campaigns, including the Mutiny and Afghan wars. Volume 2, which is more difficult to find,  focusses more thematically on the civil engineering contributions. Limited to 1000 copies. The companion volume “Indian Sappers and Miners” , (1.8 kilos) by the same publisher and in the same format is included. Spine dulled otherwise VG 3 maps to rear as called for.
