Attached to the verso of the front free endpaper is a note signed by J Baldwin (assumed to be the Major  James Baldwin thanked by the author below the preface by Lord Cobham.) which names the author as Harry Graham – now more famous for his comic verse and in particular his ‘Ruthless Rhymes’ and his work as a lyricist. Baldwin states that Graham’s authorship was acknowledged in the prospectus for the work which he baldwin) had issued prior to publication.

Covers age toned at edges and slightly soiled., with a sunned spine. Maps mis-folded. Small stamp of the Assay Office in Birmingham to the fep otherwise a VG copy.
