Description

James was botanist and geologist on the Rocky Mountains  Expedition.  4 aquatint plates (of 8) bound in and one folding table (vertical section of the latitudes of the mountains bound in to rear of  volume 3). Ex library copy., with samps throughout (including to plates). Well read, with handling marks particularly to volume 1. Now rebound in modern blue buckram with paper spine labels .  Lacks the large folding map. vii, [1], 344; vii, [1], 356; vii, [1], 347pp. A Good set, lacking the maps and with some missing plates. Spine labels lifting. WAF. Scarce.
